Not every coffee needs to be loud or flashy. Smooth and familiar, with notes of chocolate, hazelnut, and soft caramel. It’s the kind of cup that’s easy to dial-in, whether you’re pulling espresso or making a flat white at home.
Fazenda Mutuca is a historic, family-run farm located at the base of the Serra de Três Pontas in Brazil’s South of Minas region. Managed by Geraldo and Maria Theresa since 1959, the farm spans 365 hectares, with 211 dedicated to coffee and nearly a third preserved as native forest, supporting local biodiversity.
The team at Mutuca combines traditional methods with sustainable practices: composting coffee waste, using organic materials to nourish the soil, protecting water sources, and managing pests biologically. Their commitment to minimizing waste reflects our own approach at the café and roastery.
Multiple coffee varieties grow across the farm’s rolling terrain, including Yellow Catuai, Yellow Bourbon, and Mundo Novo. Each harvest, around 70% of their production scores above 82 on the SCA.
We’re happy to feature this classic as a staple in our café.
